IMCA Assistant Life Support Technician

Approximate Course Duration: 2 weeks

Courses for Assistant Life Support Technicians (ALSTs) are available to those with a good general education. This unique course, run at Fort William and our sister school in Tasmania, involves working on a fully functioning saturation system. Classroom work covers physics, physiology, legislation and dive system requirements, covering the IMCA requirements for an introduction to this highly responsible, non-diving, topside support role.

After successfully completing the course, an Assistant Life Support Technician requires 200 days of offshore work with a diving complex to become eligible to take the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) examination to qualify as a full Life Support Technician.
