IMCA Assistant Life Support Technician

Approximate Course Duration: 2 weeks

Courses for Assistant Life Support Technicians (ALSTs) are available to those with a good general education. This unique course, run at Fort William and our sister school in Tasmania, involves working on a fully functioning saturation system with divers actually in saturation. Classroom work covers physics, physiology, legislation and dive system requirements, covering the IMCA minimum requirements for an introduction to this highly responsible non-diving topside support role.

After successfully completing the course, an Assistant Life Support Technician requires 200 days offshore work with a diving complex to become eligible to take the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) examination to qualify as a full Life Support Technician.
