Testimonials
‘Very professional set up, would recommend the course to other people. Course was very intense but lectures and teaching style made a difficult subject easy to understand.’

'Using commercial divers and wrecks on the seabed to fly around and inspect was most useful for training.'
Chris Rainbow - ROV Course 122
'For me, the most useful part of the course was flying the ROV under instruction off the pier and in the tank.'

‘Your course was probably the main factor in helping me get a foot in the door of the ROV industry. I've been working offshore for just over 2 years now and have never looked back apart from with fond memories of my time in Fort William with not only you and Rob but also a lot of the lads on the courses who pop up on a regular basis in different destinations around the world where this job has led me!
Offhand I can think of at least 8 guys who work with Canyon offshore who were at Fort William that I know of... so you must be doing something right! Keep up the good work!’
Rob Smith - Canyon Offshore
'I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for a brilliant time. I learnt a great deal and hopefully over the coming years it will put me in good position for promotion within the ROV industry. We all spoke as a group and met up up at every chance we had and all agreed that we had some excellent instructors. I know we said thanks at the meal but having it in writing is proof that we meant it. Please pass on my sincere thanks to Ian, Steve and Rob. Hope to hear from you soon. I might even see you in St Abbs at some point.
Keep up the good work Paul.'
Rob Dawson - Fugro
‘It is a very intensive course and not really having a background that was conducive to learning it took me a while to assimilate the information and I am still doing so. Without the course at the Underwater Centre I would have never been able to break into the industry. I have now been working full time since finishing the course and have never regretted my decisions to attend the Underwater Centre, entering the industry. And I can only thank Paul, Rob and the team. ‘
Ian Cox - Currently working in the Mediterranean, off Libya
‘The course shows potential employers that you actually want to work in the ROV industry and are willing to put your money where your mouth is. It is particularly helpful to people that maybe don’t have a strong technical background but want to get into that type of career. If I hadn’t done the course I don’t think I’d have got my start with Fugro. There are jobs out there but you cannot sit at home and expect them to come to you.’
Bruce Liddle - Sonsub, India
'I enjoyed my stay here very much, it was a good insight into life offshore, and very worthwhile staying in your accommodation. Very friendly and supportive staff. A good all round experience.'
Max Mitchell - Premium ROV Course 144, May 2010
‘I would like to say a million thanks for your help and assistance. Throughout my course I gained a lot of great lessons especially the valuable information given by Rob, Steve and Paul, specifically from their own experiences. I appreciate the three of you teaching us beyond the limitation and proud of your patience and humbleness. I never ever faced such trainers before… Those precious memories will stay with me forever.'
Krishnan Kugan - Fugro, Singapore
'Very good course, the lectures had a great balance of logical explanations, serious in essential topics, but good banter created fun learning environment.' Anonymous - ROV Course 122
‘Thought I would drop you a quick email to see how you are doing and to let you know my career in the ROV industry is going great. I’m slowly progressing through the ranks with Canyon. Throughout the year I have been working in Angola on a construction project. Actually it was like a Fort William reunion as I’ve have been working with other guys from my course. I have a couple of hundred hours of piloting now and plenty of hours working with manipulators. I’m currently working in Congo and when that’s finished I will be working in the Gulf of Mexico.
I will be having a holiday next summer in Fort William, I will try and pop in to see how things are, and please pass on my regards to Rob.’

'Just wanted to thank you for your professional, knowledgeable, brilliant and ‘too’ full of information classes (better more knowledge than less). You have helped me understand concepts which I had originally found difficult to grasp from my electronics course days. I salute your teaching, and give you a 100% grading for it! Thanks once again.'
